The web has come a long way since its beginning as simply two computers talking as part of a military experiment and its first network ARPANET.
This was the first ever linked network of computers and formed the ground work of the internet which now today works globally. In the 1960s it was originally only being used by the US military as a way of transmitting data throughout the country, making data harder to be destroyed as it was
stored in multiple computers. Now ARPANET has moved into the commercial sector
and now goes by a different, more recognisable
name The Internet which today everybody uses.
The Internet has now recently been moving from the
standard Desktop to a new medium, the mobile phone. These devices have only
recently been connected to internet. The way they do this is by using browsers
such as Internet Explorer, just like a computer but instead use the Android
operating system allowing the programmes to
be run. On most new sites the browser
can tell what medium is being used so sites which have frequent mobile phone
use have their own special designed version for mobile phones. However, one problem
with mobile phones is that sites do not always run correctly as the older sites
only use larger screens on desktops to display on, so when a mobile phone views
the site they cannot view it easily.
The solution to this is the tablet which is a fully
portable operational version of computer.
We also started to learn about tags in Dreamweaver and
had a basic introduction into the new system where we managed to open a file correctly, as well as start talking about Head and body text and the difference between
Html and CSS. We also began to learn how both are used and how they work together to form a web page. We learned how to change font and color in Dreamweaver and use Heading tags.
